Recipe Green Smoothie

I often scour the internet looking for new recipes to try especially since I am trying to eat clean and also leaning towards converting to whole food plant-based eating after watching a few documentaries like Food Inc., Food Matters, and Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead on Netflix.  Honestly, they really opened my eyes.

Anyhow, I like to eat healthy but want my breakfast, lunch, and snacks to be quick so I seek out recipes that fit into the categories – quick and healthy.  I like to cook but during the day I have so much going on that spending an hour to make breakfast is out of the question except on the weekends.

One of my favorite go to breakfasts and even snacks are Green Smoothie.  Before you scrunch your face is disgust let me assure you that the spinach taste is minimal and the strawberries provide the needed sweetness.  Just try one, you’ll like it!  I’m not sure where I found this recipe or I would give credit but this is definitely a good starter for first timers.

I love green smoothies because they are so nutritious and they are pretty tasty.  I have tried a few variations but my favorite is:

2 handfuls of spinach, or to taste
3 or 4 frozen strawberries
1 small banana
2 tablespoons of flax seeds (optional)
8 ounces of water, give or take for desired consistency

Blend and enjoy!

Helpful hint:  Did you know that you can freeze your bananas when they are ripe and use them later?  Just make sure you peel them before or else you’ll never get it off.

Interesting, Very Interesting

It’s nice to see that good old Steven Moffat has been nominated for another Hugo Award in the ‘Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form’ category.

Oh, and Russell T Davies has been nominated too.

Moffat’s been nominated for Silence In The Library which I thought was rather good and hinted at the future Doctor in a very subtle and well written way.

Davies has been nominated for Turn Left, a lack lustre turd of an effort based on the plagarisation of the film Sliding Doors and Catherine Tate’s predictable gurning.

What’s very interesting to note is that Moffat has been nominated and has won this for the past three years. Odd that Davies hasn’t won it yet really given the number of episodes that he’s pumped out.
